Ronald Reagan wasn't always a politician. He had to start somewhere and between 1937 and 1965 he worked as an advertising spokesman on some pretty awesome campaigns.

Why is he giving the 'fuck off' hand sign in pic number 2?

morrel2,
It is the letter "V".
As in "V-8"...
As in the product that the add is for.
For anyone not familiar...
"V-8" is a popular tomato-based vegetable juice drink.
Per the claim that it is made from the juice of 8 different "V"egetables, hence the name, hence the fingers symbolizing a "V".
...and the scary part is that even with your lack of critical thinking skills, you're probably still allowed to vote, drive, and reproduce.
Staggering.

Thanks for the red thumbs on my question, but that still doesn't explain why.
Middle finger= up yours. Two fingers= fuck off.
Two fingers facing the other way= peace.
Unless they had different meanings back in those days.

Brak61,
Not the best sign to use for it considering the meaning. However, maybe it didn't mean 'fuck off' back in those days.

It still doesn't- it's just a "V" for "V-8" juice...
