This Romanian billionaire has a sick obsession with elephants. Ioan Niculae wanted it so bad that he paid $20,000 just to shoot the thing then an additional $30,000 to have it stuffed and flown to his home.

I think it's so funny that so many people out there get outraged over the killing of an ANIMAL, yet don't care about all of the people who are squashed by poverty and the carelessness of the upper 1%. Sure this guy paid a "fortune" to kill 1 animal, but I don't see you being outraged at the expenditure, but rather at the death of an animal which was doing what to help the people of this earth exactly? Thus it is not, nearly as wrong/corrupt as all the deaths of innocent people out there due to the apathy of the powerful.

In national kruger park at South Africa, rangers limit elephant population, because they are killing trees and population grown quite huge, if they would get extra cash too, I don't mind.

You have no idea what the condition of the elephant was when he shot it.

Many African countries makes it possible for "rich" people to shoot an elephant.
But it is regulated by the state or the park to ensure the diversity of the herd.

The elephant could also be sick or old, or maybe there's to many bulls in the herd/immidiate area.

We see this every month in zoo's all over the world with less extinct animals. To ensure diversity based on DNA. The corpse is either fed to the other animals or used for studies.
