if ya'll take a close look you'll see it wasnt such a waste.
i can't see any modern rifles or any really powerfull weapon at all.
here in brazil we had disarment campaign and anyone who turned a gun to the police would receive about USD 60 bucks and would have its gun destroyed.
they took pictures like these here as well. a lot old rifles and rusted guns.
as i said. here is a picture of the 2003 disarmament campaign in brazil.

Guns are a fundamental constitutional right in the United States. Besides that, lots of criminals have guns whether they are legal or not. I want to own guns to make sure my family and home are safe from violent criminals. At the risk of "rambling on about Jews and Cambodians", the common thread for most all genocides and totalitarian regimes is the disarmament of the populace. An armed population is a free population. And as a side note, gun ownership in America is at an all time high, and the per capita murder rate is at a 46 year low. Check the FBI preliminary report for 2009 if you don't believe me.

This is what happens when we have too many rights.
The ownership rate is high now because all the gun fanatics panicked and ran to the gun shops when they found out Obama would be enforcing tougher ownership laws, which he never did. In fact, Obama hasn't done much of anything other than be a celebrity.
I know maybe one or two people that actually own guns (strictly for hunting for food). Nobody else I know would even think of bringing a gun into their home. Maybe if people live in shitty areas it's necessary, but nobody I know would even think about bringing a gun into their home, especially those with children in the house.
