donald,
you are 100% right there buddy! I was a manager at a dealership that sold exotics like these and the goofballs that could afford them RARELY could handle them on a track let alone a street! Super cars are much more controlable than they used to be but they ALL can get away from you very quick.

For me the hardest one to see wrecked is The Porsche GT. I had a customer wreck one and I see another one here. Man that hurts. They are not exactly easy to get even if you have the money.

The saddest part of some of the photos is that the car itself seems to have been at fault, as the engine fires probably were down to a fault inherent to the car.
Top Gear TV program showed several pictures of the Gallardo going up in flames, all taken in different places of seperate cars, and highlighting a possible fault in that design. There was even a report here some years ago of a chap waiting years for a new Morgan sports cars and having it burst into flames within a few miles of the factory where he picked it up. Sad sad sad!
