I find memento mori the creepiest of all, especially when living relatives pose with the body.

Well its all to do with funerals. Is that the only thing people did in them times or is it another poorly thought of title?

that's not correct in number 3. Today still when someone dies mirrors are covered. Also it's not victorian era ... it's jewish superstition about a "Dybuk" a demon that could possess the dead body without the soul.
It's practiced in Eastern Europe and so on ...
