Dan Dunbar took his boat out near Nanoose Bay in British Columbia because he was hoping to catch fish. What he ended up catching was a bald eagle. Dan saw the eagle treading water and decided to be a hero by saving it.

What he caught was a Golden Eagle. Or a Bald eagle with a toupee...lol

Bald eagles don't develop white feathers until maturity, about four years after hatching. This was probably a young eagle who flubbed one of its first attempts at snagging a fish. It is common for bald eagles to nest and hunt near water, fish being a staple of their diets, while golden eagles favor rocky or mountainous terrain.

Was this eagle eventually able to fly away or did it need some sort of rehabilitation?
