i just read about #18 last week. The astronomers of the day noticed an irregularity in Uranus's orbit and started to question newtonian physics. Using lots and lots of sufferable math, one young Brit and a young French fellow came about predicting the roughlocation of Neptune. It would likely have been discovered quicker if certain university leadership types on both side of the Channel had given up more time on their big telescopes.
