So they all look pretty much exactly the same. Got it. Thanks.

Edit: Or is the point of this post to point out the technical sharpness of the lines in the animation? That has nothing to do with the Simpsons, but rather the technology of the 80s versus today. The early screen captures look like they were lifted from a VHS recording from standard definition tv, whereas the the recent shots look like screen caps from a proper dvd rip or high def tv rip. That has nothing to do with the Simpsons specifically. You could have taken any show that originated in the standard def era and compared it to its high def broadcasts today.

At first I thought you were trying to point out how facial features had changed over the years, or how some characters used to be fatter or slimmer or had actually aged since the early days of the show. I was confused.

In the original Simpsons shorts (from the Tracey Ullman Show), they looked hideous, like they scrawled them out in 10 seconds.
