I don't thing it's dead... why tape up its mouth if it were dead? The ice in the back of the pickup is to keep its metabolism down so it would be sluggish when they reached their destination

Here's a rant for all you animal lovers. Alligators have a regulated hunting season just like any other big game in America. If they were not managed and hunted to a certain extent, the population grows to the point that the environment can no longer sustain it. So you see cruel hunters killing defenseless animals, while in actuality, they are doing a service to the animals by helping to maintain a healthy population.
