The b/w pics are when it was the Soviet supported era. Kabul was like Baku, Almaty or Bishkek - of that period.

Well, there were times of peace, but not for a long period. One of the poorest countries in the world, constantly in the state of war thanks to bigger and powerful countries, and inside criminals.
