Thousands of people witnessed this mysterious spiral in the sky last night in Norway.
It was actually spinning.
Some people think it's an UFO, other say it's a Stargate.
Obviously it's not the Nothern Light.
My guess was that it's an experiment by American scientists at the HAARP base.
Ten days ago a CERN worker wrote this:
The best regards to american scientist who have begun testing Aurora project. But don't overroast a planet, colleague ;)
I hope they won't.
Now it's almost confirmed that it was the fail launch of new Russian Bulava rocket.

There are way too many camera angles.

It was visible from the middle of Norway to the northern part, a distance of about 1000 miles, so it was definitively not a hillside projection.

From the papers today: a researcher from the Norwegian Spacecenter said it was a rocket shot from a russian submarine. The longdistance rocket had a failure and exploded. The russians first denied the event, but sources in the Russian Navy later disclosed that it was a rocket failure.

The same researcher reviewed the video and said that the spiral effect and speed of the object points to a rocket, and a failure. It's the same effect when the stick breaks on those firework rockets.

The rocket was seen in Norway, not tested there. The rocket was fired from somewhere in the White Sea.

THANK YOU Chrizmo and TheAnswer, for posting a response that was actually worth reading!
(Unlike this and every other post to this picture.)
Question: can anyone suggest a way for this site or any other to provide MEANINGFUL feedback?
I'm tired of reading dumb responses and pointless comments while looking for answers. (Not that all posts are dumb, but most are insecure people who just want to be heard. Please don't comment on the irony of my post - I'm well aware of it, but feel it had to be said.)
