You can tell they are all SUPER Hornets and not the old standard Hornets because the air intakes are shaped like a rombus and not an oval like the older ones.

I agree the F-18 is a good airframe. It was the pioneer in Multi role aircraft. But as stated above, it is certainly showing it's age, there are quite a few out there now which outclass it. Typhoon, Gryphon, Rafael, Raptor. just to name a few. Nice post BTW.
