This is funny, I hope its ment to be ironic. Nowdays US is invading (note: attacking, not defending) only into poorest countries in the world and even there its a struggle. Probably rest of the world wouldnt have to make a single shot. Simple embargo would make US dry out fast. Not to mention if there will be real compats. Sumer, Egypt, Babylonian, Athenian, Roman, Tang, Mughal, British, and every other "great power" has only enjoyed a temporary moment in the sun. The United States have enjoyed their moment as one of two super powers following WW2. With the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1993, no clear successor rose to prominence, leaving the US without a peer-competitor.

Will that change? Absolutely--althought strategically the US enjoys several advantages (removed from most other powers, vast resources, blue-water navy, etc). I think, though, that the change will happen slowly. Developing economies (Brazil, India, Turkey, China, etc) each have unique strengths and weakness, and none are ready to go toe-to-toe in open warfare with the US. Will they be in 20 years? It's possible--we'll see in 2034...

Point is, while many individual Americans are arrogant, I don't believe the country as a whole is arrogant.
