#4 - Fuel vapor is far more combustible than liquid fuel. The tanks being empty would explode with more force than if they were filled with liquid.
#9 - Because he's taunting the bad guys. They know who he is, and he doesn't give a shit.
#20 - He was already a soldier, and one who'd killed hundreds. He was also already a leader. All he did was master their style.
Many of the others are spot on though.
