#1 is false. There's no way a passenger or carrier airplane could land or take off on the short distance between the poles with signs.
The one that wrote that bullshit clearly saw too many movies with amazing landings.

I agree that #1 is crap. What's the point of having a landing strip that has overhead signs? What about long stretches that are elevated?
