Plane Crash in San Francisco (23 pics)

Two fatalities and 49 serious injuries though 182 were taken to hospitals. With 307 on the plane (291 passengers, 16 crew) it could have been a lot worse.

The plane came in too low and its tail hit the embankment at then end of the runway. The weather was clear, in the 60's, and with light winds so that it was not a factor.

(I saw the very first pictures and interviews on TV as I am only a short distance south of SFO. Its a terrible feeling listening and watching as events unfolded).
