The Earth is still warming up, it was just warming up quicker than predicted from about 2003 to 2007, settling down now to what was predicted before. Climate is shifting, so some places get colder, but most places get warmer. Even if all the landmasses were to get colder, global warming would still occur. Remember, 70% of the world is Ocean, and the North pole is still shrinking. A mini Ice-age would mean the poles would have more ice, not less.

America, aka USA, is NOT a continent... unless Canada and Mexico have recently become the 52nd and 53rd state, the continent is still called NORTH America. There is no continent called 'America'. You need the North or South prefix to make it a continent.
