I agree on Swiss trains. They never get late. You can actually adjust your watch time referring to their leaving time.

Only once in my life a train was 2 minutes late: a regular train from Switzerland to Germany. The conductor actually apologized in various languages and I swear, he blamed it on the German railway system (which apparently is not as good...).

Just a couple of weeks ago, one of the 'Metro' system trains in Southern California (from Orange County to Union Station), was just a bit more than an hour and-a-half late.

Hell, OUR transit system doesn't even go to LAX airport!

Could learn a thing or two from the Swiss OR Japanese...even the Germans.
