I believe a counterfeit product must have the same label.

Something similar-looking isn't technically counterfeit because you can't patent a color, shape, or letter font.






Edit - For the down voters - The 2012 Kia Cerato Coupe looks very close to the 2012 Honda Civic Coupe. You would be hard-pressed to tell the difference side by side.

My brother bought a Movado Luno watch in Vietnam for $8 US. It looks exactly like the real thing. You wouldn't know it was fake, even details such as the weight of it and the box it came in.

Of the two examples, one is similar-looking, the other is a counterfeit.
