Russian town of Oymyakon is the world's coldest inhabited place. It's also cold "Pole of Cold." In February 1933, a temperature of -67.7°C, or -90°F, was recorded at the weather station there.

I was reading that they have to keep there cars on 24/7 for fear of the engines freezing if they stop running. Also only source of power is by a fuel burning power station, if deliveries of fuel do not arrive the town is left without power for sometimes days
