My wife and I saved a kitten in nearly the exact same condition. Vet said if we had left him out another 24 hours he would've died from exposure. Fleas, mites, filth, upper respiratory infection, malnourished, dehydrated, the whole thing.
He was never a truly healthy cat, but he lived to be 15 years old. I loved that cat.
