Auschwitz concentration camp was a network of concentration and extermination camps in Poland built and operated by Germans during WWII. More than 1.3 million people, around 90 percent of them Jewish, died inside these camps. 1,300,000 people annually come to visit Auschwitz —pass through the iron gates crowned with the infamous motto, "Arbeit macht frei" ("Work makes free").
