These pictures were taken during an initiation ceremony for freshmen at St. Dominika Savio Silesian School in Lubin, Poland. The photos show boys and girls licking white foamy cream off Father Marcin Kozyra's knobby knees. The head of the school says that this is a long-standing tradition and there is nothing wrong. Well, it's still looks kind of weird.

The media in Poland (and subsequently - around the world) made a big fuss about it, suggesting sexual background and so on, but the truth is that it is not at all sexual (althought it looks really bad, especially when you think about all the pedophilia cases in the church.

The whipped/shaving cream task is a very popular part of initiation ceremonies and it is not supposed to be sexual at all, it derives from the tradition of "kissing Neptunes knee" (part of initiation ceremonies among young amateur sailors, at least in Poland) and it's suposed to be gross, nothing more. And nobody ever thought there was anything sexual about it before.

I know it looks terrible but I don't think the priest had any bad intentions or took any pleasure in it. But it sure was stupid to do so, given that the pedophilia is a huge problem in catholic church and it just had to be interpreted (I hope - MISinterpreted) in such a way.
