Actually carrots are orange due to beta carotene, a precursor to vitamin A which is required by the retina in the eye to allow it to form retinol. This is used in both night time and day time vision.

Actually, you CAN get warts from toads. It happened to me, and I wasn't even touching the toad, I touched a brick that I used to hit the toad, and I took it to hit the toad the second time because it didn't die. (don't blame me, I was 12!).
As a result I had about 20 warts on the palm, at the point where I touched the part of the brick that had contact with the toad.
Oh, yes, and I called BS on the spider swallowing thing long time ago...
