There's an air show of old "Warbirds" held here every year. To see these things up close is great but to be able to stand in your own yard and hear and feel the power of these planes when they are flying in and out of town is amazing. Makes me feel like I'm in some sort of time warp. Best of all there's no bombing or shooting going on, even from the German and Japanese planes.

#35 are Russian ... well, the planes are P-39 Cobra's which were American made.
The Americans didn't like them so most of them were given to Russia as part of the lend lease agreement

#46 "The
Tuskegee Airmen
were the first African-American military aviators in the United States armed forces. During World War II, African Americans in many U.S. states were still subject to the Jim Crow laws. The American military was racially segregated, as was much of the federal government. The Tuskegee Airmen were subjected to racial discrimination, both within and outside the army.
Despite these adversities, they trained and flew with distinction.
All black military pilots who trained in the United States trained at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama ...." [Wikipedia).
