School in Italy is far harder than you imagine :) they are right to party on
BTW, it's moderately common... not very common.

it's common to see these scenes when you finish your last day in high school (liceum). 18-19 years old gals/guys. We usually party during the day throwing water balloons, powder, flour, eggs and whaterver can make you dirty :D
then you have the usual class dinner and disco during the night....
