Some of these taken by fish eye lens, anything below 12mm is fish eye lens ! Im not a fan of fish eye lens, pictures come out unrealistic in panorama ! The other ones are some formal lens bove 18mm. This is how they do, they take pictures ( usually atleast 4 ) in vertical position, and stitch them up in PTS, then they have to crop it down. Thats why you have to do in vertical position, more space from top to bottom for cropping later.
