Greennauta....I believe that first place is Bodie, California. in the Sierra foothills, goldrush days, you can visit there, it is open to the public, but remote.

Centralia (underground mine fire photo) isnt abandoned. in fact there are still residents living there to this day. the photo below the sign photo is one of the homes still being lived in.
i live about an hour away from centralia and visit it often

I think there were some scenes from Big Trouble In Little China from Kowloon Walled City. Yeah, it became a denizen for illegal doctors and crime syndicates so they demolished it.
I just heard on NPR that Allen Ginsberg never lived in good apartments but these are SUPER dumps but maybe someplace to go to "survive."

usually none... because most of these were probably taken while trespassing.
once youre in you're usually safe. popping in and out here and there for a quick exterior shot. its entering and exiting that causes the problems. thats why you usually enter right as day breaks and wait for the sun to rise.
