I remember when this happened, God bless him he kept wailing and wailing on those skins and never missed a beat. Thanks for not giving up.

You really don't hear the missing trombone during Beethoven's 5th symphony, do you.

Also not mentioned, the band stood by him all the way and didn't go on tour without him. Awesome.

If I remember rightly, being a fan at the time, he hit a wall on a country road in his Corvette and was not racing anyone. This was in the UK, where locals will know the country lanes are narrow and twisty, and can even catch out the most careful driver.
It was a freak accident, and as he was thrown from the car his arm got caught up in the seatbelt and torn off.
He had started to work out how to drum with only one arm while still in hospital, demonstrating to other band members using the foot-board on his bed as a substitute pedal board.
Dedicated man, with good friends in the band to support him.

Respect? Sorry, no. The man is a convicted wife beater. Notice how his disability didn't stop him grabbing her by the throat, dragging her into a bathroom and smashing her head against a wall? Yeah, people with disabilities can do all the things normal people can do. Psycho's too.
