So they may have been, but aren't those nobler ideals than what label you're wearing, or how little the world around you means when you're not the centre of attention.

Men of every time have their own cross to bear, but the more time moves on, the 'men' of this age only seem concerned about who will carry their cross for them.

I would trust the older style of man far more with my life than the man of today, who seems barely capable of looking after himself, let alone anyone around him.

Remember the conventions that form your outlook now may be unacceptable to the man of the future in some way too.
