Traveling across the U.S. this past week I noticed that at the Waffle House they automatically add a 10% tip to the ticket for the person packing my order. Guess what, 10% is usually a lot less than I normally tip. Signs like the ones above, just piss me off and make me want to keep every penny. Don't ask for a tip, if you do your job and provide good service then you'll get tipped, if you get a low tip or no tip, stop and look at how you treat the low or no tippers. You might find that you ignored them completely while you were busy updating your facebook, twitter or texting your friends.

Some waiters don't seem to realize that job performance is what gets big tips. I have left no tip once when we were shown to a table by the hostess and the waitress brought water and took our order then disappeared.The cook brought out our food and the hostess took our money. We didn't see the waitress again until we were out the door only to have her chase us down and and demand a tip. I wanted to punch her for her audacity.
