Quebec Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) had to clean up a stray dog that was extremely dirty. The hair of the animal was so long that the dog seemed to double its size.

Just to let you know, this dog was adopted 2 days after coming back in the shelter. A vetenarian gave the 1 week fee for his recovery. He's about 10 years old.
People at the shelter took more than 3hrs to clean him.

What kind of asshole would let a dog get to that point? Some people should not be allowed to have pets.

Joe, Most modern breeds of dogs would not exist if it weren't for man. Either for work or for show, dogs have been bread by man to look and behave the way they do.

I wonder how the ex-owner looks, maybe worst than the dog used to. Because a dog's look is a reflection of the owners most of the time; I feel sorry for this and many dogs that are at the wrong hands.

Is there have to be ex-owners of the dog?!?

Every dog in Canada has an owner?

To all the people wondering about the owner of this dog you should know that this dog is one of many rescued from a puppy mill.
The dogs are kept in small cages that are never washed out and the mothers are forced to breed until they die.
As a resident of Quebec it makes me very sad that we have no animal rights and that the "owners" only get a fine.
What's worse is that there are mills like this found annually here and our government does nothing about it.
Don't support puppy mills! These people sell the puppies to pet stores so when you buy that doggie in the window you are encouraging them to keep doing it.
Rescue a puppy or a kitty and give them the loving home they deserve.
