If I win the lottery... I've always wanted to buy an island. Nothing fancy - It would have basic services such as a rudimentary hotel or individual huts, some staff, security, food and bar services. All I would ask is that visitors pay for the up-keep, perhaps thru interest from investments made in the name of the island corporation.
The thing about buying an island in international waters is that laws don't apply. You get to make your own law, like an independent republic. That's why the Cayman Islands have become a tax haven. That's why Guantanamo Bay can operate outside of legal prosecution.
