Of course that is all BS. It might be a plausible calculation of the odds if we were to assume that you or I were the ultimate goal. We aren't, we are the product. The chances of each one of us existing are 1 - we do exist.

Oh, and the bit about deaths etc, that is just stupid. If any single person (or creature all the way back to the primordial ooze) had died before being old enough to reproduce and produce your line of descent then you wouldn't exist. Again, you do exist so that didn't happen, so you can't include it in the calculations.

Existence is random. The continuity of life is random. There is no "greater meaning" to any action. One's actions are simply a path to the ultimate destination where everything will converge.

These calculations may be correct, I don't know. BUT I do know, that such calculations only need to be applied if it is your goal to achieve the person you are. If you look at reality (yeah I know, understanding of that one is difficult here on the Internet), you see that you were not a goal of the universe, you are just something that happened (yeah, sounds sad but who cares?) randomly and we are here. Thats what counts for me.
