The last meal is a customary part of a death row inmate's last day. In most states alcohol or tobacco is usually denied as a part of the last meal. If request is unavailable it will be replaced with a substitute. In Florida the food for the last meal must be purchased locally and it shouldn't cost over $40. The prisoner may choose to distribute his last meal among other inmates. In September 2011, the state of Texas abolished all special last meal.[10]
