The whole world is waiting for August 2 when U.S. could default on its spending obligations if the compromise between Congress and Obama wouldn't happen. Let's see how large the US national debt actually is, using the well-known $100 bill.

And here are 114.5 trillion dollars. This is US unfunded liabilities. The 114.5 Trillion dollar super-skyscraper is the amount of money the U.S. Government knows it does not have to fully fund the Medicare, Medicare Prescription Drug Program, Social Security, Military and civil servant pensions.

To put into a more macro perspective... Every person living in the US today, legal or illegal, owes more than $200,000.

The US only had around $250 billion in (adjusted) debt in 1950. So the debt you see today is due to the recklessness of government spending (corruption) in just 60 years.

The world's combined GNP is estimated to be only $50 trillion. All Obama can do is delay the inevitable... bankruptcy.

US Democracy - The poster child for government non-accountability.

There are ways to fix this but there is to much fucking greed in order to do so. Not to mention that no one in our government has the balls to stand up and do anything that won't directly benefit them in one way or another.

All great civilizations fail at one point and we're no different. America was 200 yrs old in 1976 and we may make it to 300 yrs but there's too many greedy fuckers out there and I doubt America will make it 400 (hell, we'll be lucky if earth makes it that long without throwing us off some how).
