What surprises me is the workmanship and the care used to make the simplest of handles or any part of the tools appealing to the eye: the bur thimble with the decorated ring, the decorations on most tools, etc.

Tools are better today, but uglier.

Looks like torture tools indeed. The modern ones are awful and I can't describe the pain I've had when I went to make a teeth cleaning, but oh well if I lived in the old days and saw this before, I wouldn't put my feet on the dentist 15 01
