Wow...and they ask me why it's embarrasing to say I'm an American sometimes...
I'm glad he's dead but we shouldn't be rejoicing that he is. It polarizes the US and Middle Eastern relation even further and as an American I'm proud to say we gave him a proper burial because we're a democratic country that won't stoop to the same levels as radicals do by flaunting and mutilating his body. The only way we can bring more peace to is by showing more peace. Hate only breeds more hate.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

If Osama Bin Laden was the most wanted man in the world, where is the proof of his death? Where is the autopsy report? Where is the independent medical verification that the body is genuine?

Dumping some non-descript body into the ocean seems pretty damn convenient. It's interesting no major American news network has bothered to pick up on that small detail.

Frederich Nietzsche once said that it was terrible that everyone would be allowed to write because what was once god, then became man, now has become mob.

There are alot of details I am interested in knowing such as how they got a DNA test back in less than three to five days required for testing. Could they have gotten prior DNA for testing from the household somehow? Gone through the trash? Nope, the reports said that unlike their neighbors the trash in that compound was burned and DNA is a rather fragile thing especially if you don't want it contaminated. Why did the reports mention that the body was put in the downed helicopter which was then detonated but then the body was buried at sea? Did they go through the ashes of the helicopter afterwards and get the body? It looked as though the downed helicopter was outside the compound walls. Yeah, I tried to Google all this and came up with the standard AP news releases. The above Facebook people wouldn't know what it was about anyway 10

On the same note with Jimmy Johnson and Nyetwerke... You can't claim something so big without showing any piece of palpable proof!
Moreover, why kill him? Sure, he was a bad man, but having him alive on a trial
would have been far more rewarding than just killing and dumping him in the sea [which is kinda ridiculous]! Plus he could have revealed interesting facts about 9/11 and Al Qaeda...

P.S. Yesterday I killed the Easter Bunny, or at least something that looked like him. Of course I dumped his body in an unmarked field of carrots to prevent his grave site from becoming a shrine!

I find myself agreeing with the guy who said it might not be the real Osama since there are a lot of Arabic people who look like him and if they are working under his command would be more than willing to give their own life away, to protect his.

Yes it is a good thing that the American's found Osama bin Laden. No the killing will not stop now he is dead. The sad thing is that many people believe that his demise means the end of terrorist attacks. Why should it? Will you stop hating other people whose beliefs are different to your own? Well, neither will they. Why, because they are the same as you.

It would seem that people supporting him are as ignorant and bigoted as the people posting these messages on Facebook. I am seriously worried about the attitudes and ignorance these messages show. The people that do not know who Osama bin Laden was, are showing the continuing trend towards isolation, lack of education and selfish uncaring attitudes. The hate messages just show how far the 'I want dead anyone who is not like me, I have that right because I am superior to you' attitude has gone.

Before we end up destroying everything and everyone on our planet can I ask the people who posted these messages, and all the ones like them around the world to learn about your country, learn about the world, make an effort to understand other people and other cultures. If you don't we have no hope of living peacefully with one another.

In short, do some research, try to put yourself in other people's shoes and understand that if you feel strongly about someone just imagine how strongly they feel about you.

And if you can't do this, then for all our sakes, keep quiet.

Just to clear a few things up for those worried that it might not have been Osama, and that there might be a conspiracy. Firstly they were prepared to take Osama alive if they had the opportunity, but it's not like he just put his hands in the air - lets face it would you if you were in his place? Secondly the burial at sea was done quickly - firstly in accordance with Muslim law which is an important point, and secondly so as not to create a shrine that could be a focal point. Lastly they team that went in included forensic evidence gatherers who would have made certain that the person they assumed to be Osama was indeed him. Lastly, they did take and keep DNA evidence precisely for the very reason that it would allow them to confirm identity long after death.

One last point, I'm in the camp doesn't think it is right to celebrate the death of a human being, no matter who he was. I in no way shape or form support the terrible terrible things he has done or caused to be done, but celebrating a human death doesn't seem acceptable.

The ignorance of these people is disturbing. First those who ask who Osama is and then those who post racist comments . 13 13 13

I was very young (and I'm not American) when 9/11 happened, but I realized that this man did something horrible: so many died, so many lost people close to them. But when when I heard of his death I wasn't relieved, I was scared (and honestly, a bit satisfied). Osama was a dangerous man, but his death could make the world even more dangerous.

The Americans wanted their revenge and they got it. Now Osama's followers will want revenge. This death celebration is just a provocation. If we would just put away craving for revenge and hate, maybe there was a chance for peace. How can people think they're better than radicals if they celebrate death and hate like this? In the end we are all humans with the same feelings, and hate is sadly too human, but we have to let go of it if we don't want to destroy everyone and everything on the earth.

Peace isn't easy (but needed), but if hate is encountered with hate, this war seems to have no end to me and will result in everyone's suffering.
