Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory, central Australia. It lies 335 km (208 mi) south west of the nearest large town, Alice Springs; 450 km (280 mi) by road. Kata Tjuta and Uluru are the two major features of the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park. Uluru is sacred to the Aṉangu, the Aboriginal people of the area. It has many springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings. Uluru is listed as a World Heritage Site.

First you have to get to Alice Springs in the middle of Australia and the central Austrialian desert where temps can reach 113 degress F. By train, 900+ miles from Adlaide or 900+ miles from Darwin . Then 280 miles to the rock. Then repeat to get back to civilzation, a 2400 mile trek. Only for the hardy or those that can afford the airfare. Not your usual tourist attraction. 34

These are the first pics I've seen of anything besides the typical far off pics of it. So to see some actual streams and waterfalls was good, but would have liked to see more. Just sayin.
