The Marine with no pants on is Gunnery Sgt. Michael Burghardt. He's giving the single digit salute to the insurgents who TRIED to blow him up, because they were likely watching or video taping to see what kind of damage they did.

I had a friend, Larry Ball, with the LAPD bomb squad killed along with his partner, Arleigh McCree, trying to defuse a pipe bomb in 1986. I wish we had the robots and techonology then that we have now .
