One guy sent to his sister 10,000 pennies by mail. The box weighs 70 lbs (32 kg)!

The source link didn't work for me. I'm wondering why he sent her the pennies. At least she looked happy about it!

How do they know it's 10,000? There was a woman in Michigan who made a sculpture of a penny out of 84,000 pennies which is very cool.

How much was the postage on priority mail? Apparently the USPS does not have a weight limit on their priority mail. No wonder its losing money!

They did it to test to see if the USPS "if it fits, it ships" flat rate boxes really ship regardless of weight. It did.

As hot said above, USPS has a flat rate box of up to 70 lbs.

Why does the intro text say it was 70lb when there are multiple photos clearly showing 58.8lb?
I was actually surprised to see USPS shipped this at all though - for some reason I was thinking they had a weight limit of around 50lb.
