It's a photographic effect, nothing more. All your dog or cat could destroy, Mortex, would be copies of photos left lying around.
I wish I knew exactly what is done to achieve this effect, I'd like to try it myself.

it's done using a REAL photo, and then you use photoshop to make it blurry...

That's really cool when you crunch the depth-of-field like that. The world looks like a bunch of miniatures and toys. Benji, it's done with special lenses. No photoshop or digital editing..

It can all be done in photoshop. There are several good guides available on the net. I can see that some were done with shift optics, byt most of the pics in the dump were edited.
