This was a generation defining console and problem. I had one that had the Red Ring of Death - after months of playing. Microsoft actually honored their word and sent us a brand new 360 with a fresh copy of Halo 3 the day it came out. It was incredible timing. Though we had to wait about 2 months in the Summer of (whenever the red ring of death was) to get back our precious.
Only thing worse than calling your friend and their mom picks up, is when you ran over to their house only for their mom to open the door.
Thinking of a phonebook now is actually crazy - a book that every registered citizen gets for their city or town or county that tells the names, the phone numbers, and the addresses of everybody. It seems crazy to me listing all this info - is it just me?
The absolute worst was when you rented a dvd and got home only to find it was scratched to sh*t. I can still hear my dad huff as he has to get back in the car and drive to the store to swap discs.
My car still has these, and that black stick that comes up through the middle of the car, and a third pedal. Something must have gone wrong at the factory ;)
