All they gotta do is hit the brakes and the tape will cut through the fingers. Four badly cut hands, an expensive TV smashed. Judging from the car and the TV, they could afford delivery.

If he hits the brakes the strap will not cut his fingers, they will just have a tv on their head. They would need to hit the gas for the tv to fall backwards and the strap cut their fingers or pop open, sending the tv crashing behind the car.
