stations. There was always someone who pumped gas for you and plenty of them had a cigarette hanging out of their mouths. I never gave it a thought back then.

you have a point there, stella, the photographer took the shots because he thought it was dangerous, instead of doing something about it.

but i think you guys are over reacting.
the only there will be gasoline in any place that's not the hose or the inside of the car, is if someone manually activates the pumps, and if even if some fuel does spill on the floor, cold cigarette ash won't ignite it. and even if she did manage miraculously to spil gas on the floor, and to drop the cigarette on it, she would just burn alive alone. explosions aren't that easy to produce, you know.

There are some stupid people out there. I left a gas station quickly before getting gass one day because of another idiot. Someone was filling a push mower while in the back of an SUV. He over filled it and the obviously hot mower started smoking.

And no I did not stop to take pictures.

I saw alot of americans doing that on the unfortunate occasions my family vacations involved that craphole. And i saw quite a few of them doing it, so factor in americans legendary stupidity, plus the amount of times i saw it happen....... means It can't really be all that dangerous if so many morons can get away with it.

The fact the she survived goes to show that the concept of justice is an invention and has no basis in reality.
