How to Create Capsules by Hand

There are two ways to make DIY capsules. These methods require no tools, which are usually needed when making capsules with the help of a filling machine.

Scoop and Push Technique

1. Place some powder or any other stuff intended for filling into a bowl.
2. Open an empty capsule. Hold the body of the capsule in one hand and the cap in another.
3. Dip both parts of the capsule into the fill material.
4. Grab fill material in a scooping motion until it is full. Make sure the cap is not overloaded with the stuff to seal the capsule firmly.
5. Close both parts of the capsule.

Funnel or Folded Paper or Lab Scoop Technique

Unlike the previous approach, this method requires using small tools to fill capsules. If you are faced with fluffy and light materials, this technique guarantees steady doses compared with those made just by bare hands. Moreover, such tools ensure a tight package of fill materials in the capsules:

1. Place some stuff into a bowl.
2. Open an empty capsule.
3. Holding the body of the capsule in one hand, use another to scoop the stuff with a lab scoop (with creased paper or a funnel) and place it into the capsule body.
4. Ram down the stuff into the capsule and make sure it is solidly sealed with a capsule cap.

Please note that the use of a special filling machine will speed up the creation of filled capsules if you need to make a decent number of capsules in a short period.
