They get left alone all day, locked up, with no entertainment, toys, etc, they will find their own toys to ease their stress/boredom. Those dogs are happiest outside as well, the colder the better. Wonder why they are inside?

Those animals MUST be allowed to be out doors , they don't make good apartment pets.

but they are very loyal and intelligent and make wonderful companions.

joffenbaker it's called separation anxiety. Maybe this idiot should spend less time taking pictures of his dog chewing on things and more time training it. This is obviously a combination of separation anxiety and an irresponsible owner.

They need to crate the dog before it eats something that kills it.

Edit: I make this statement not to be mean, but from experience. We had a dog who did this when the wife and I would go to work. The amount of toys and exercise did not effect the amount of damage. After multiple trips to the vet, he told us to to crate him while we were gone before he ate something that would kill him. Wife and I were against it at first, but it made all the difference, he had a place just for him and after a few months we were able to stop shutting him in it, but he he would use the crate as a dog house inside the house.

My SIL has a husky. He has never done anything like that!!!! Maybe a slipper, once. They have him crate trained and he can run free in the back yard. Maybe that's the difference?

Don't have an outdoor dog as an indoor pet. Problem solved. Why not just get a wolf then?
