Back in the day, before term IT specialist was invented, the IBM customer engineers would punch Christmas carols on 80 column cards and and 'play' them on 1403 printers (the old chain and hammer printers). Think guys with short haircuts, black rimmed glasses, white shirts, narrow black times, and a suit; that was the "IT Geek" of the 50's through early 70's. 12
