American businessman and former military pilot Herb Gouldon, who had traveled a lot in the 50's and 60's, made very quality color pictures. Here are his photos of Japan. Guldon visited it several times in the 50's.

Another wonderful post! I highly recommend the BBC special, Japan in Colour: The Wonderful World of Albert Kahn - color photos from the first quarter of the 20th century.
