Inemuri allows people to be asleep and present at the same time. Japanese have an amazing talent for falling asleep in elevators, on trains and even during meetings. Inemuri requires following particular rules. You can’t lounge, so you should keep upright while sleeping. And you can’t endanger the social situation.

Wow, that is a REALLY cool talent. Definitely something to research. Is this genetics or are they taught this by their parents?

Oh. D'oh. Inemuri on Wiki just comes up with a definition.. of basically sleeping at work. It isn't a technique, just a habit.

So... really, how do they manage to do that?

I have seen them do it on trains. they seem to know exactly when their stop comes up and run off as soon as the doors open.

and I think latin countries call it siesta!
